Biography
Teresa Coles-Davila is a Texas native from the city of Houston and has practiced in the area of Immigration & Nationality law for over 26 years. She is a graduate of the University of St. Thomas in Houston, Texas and St. Mary’s University School of Law in San Antonio, Texas. Teresa is the managing attorney for the Law Offices of Teresa Coles-Davila, P.C. in San Antonio, Texas since 2003 practicing exclusively in the area of Immigration and Nationality Law primarily focusing on family-based immigration, crimmigration, humanitarian cases, asylum, naturalization and removal defense.
Teresa has been Board Certified in Immigration & Nationality Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization since December 2006. Prior to founding the Law Offices of Teresa Coles-Davila, P.C., Teresa was the Director for Immigration Services at Catholic Charities, San Antonio, a Visiting Professor of Law at St. Mary’s University School of Law Center for Legal and Social Justice, and an Adjunct Professor of Law at Texas Tech University School of Law.
A Texas Bar Foundation Life Fellow, Teresa currently serves as the Immediate Past Chair for the SBOT Immigration and Nationality Law Section Council, the Vice-Chair for the San Antonio Bar Association Immigration & Nationality Law Section and is serving on the SBOT Laws Relating to Immigration and Nationality Committee. Throughout her career, she has recognized the importance of serving the legal profession and educating practitioners through organizing various CLE panels as well as serving as a panelist for different organizations. Additionally, in past years, she has served as the American Immigration Lawyers Association Liaison for the Executive Office for Immigration Review. Teresa has been appointed as an immigration law expert by various Federal, District, and County Courts to testify on matters relating to immigration consequences of criminal convictions, naturalization, and other Immigration and Nationality law related matters.
